Athletes & End-of-Life Care
Specialized Care Designed For Those Who Lived Life in Motion.
Athletes & End-of-Life Care
For over 30 years, I have walked two paths—one in healthcare, the other in sports. People often asked how I could be both a hospice owner and an NFL agent at the same time. My answer has never changed: “Hospice is my calling. Sports are my passion.”
That intersection inspired this mission: to create a place where athletes at every level—professionals, weekend golfers, recreational pickleball players, Friday night coaches, or anyone who has ever loved playing or cheering for a sport—can find dignity and specialized care at life’s end.
Athletes are unique. Their bodies have carried years of training, competition, and resilience. Many face long-term effects like CTE, chronic pain, or simply the natural wear that comes from a lifetime in motion. Just as every game has its final season, every life has a final chapter—and it deserves the same preparation, strategy, and respect.
Here in the Coachella Valley, sports are part of the rhythm of life. From golf and tennis to pickleball, football, hockey, and more, the love of the game runs deep in the desert. As a nurse who played recreational soccer until age forty, discovered joy in golf later in life, and as a former NFL agent who understands the unique challenges athletes and their families face, I know how deeply sports shape identity, resilience, and community.
At Still Waters Hospice of the Desert, we honor that spirit. We provide compassionate, expert care that respects not only the journey of each athlete but also the loved ones, teammates, and caregivers who stand beside them. Because in the end, it is not about leaving the game behind—it is about carrying its spirit forward with dignity, grace, and honor.
